Marah Jones was named Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine at Morgan State University in September 2026, bringing more than a decade of experience in collegiate athletics and sports medicine to the Morgan State Athletics Department.
At Morgan State, Jones oversees the university's sports medicine operations and works collaboratively with student-athletes, coaches, physicians and athletics administrators to promote the health, safety and overall well-being of the Bears' student-athletes.
Prior to joining Morgan State, Jones spent five seasons at Rider University, where she served as the primary athletic trainer for the women's basketball program. In that role, she was responsible for the comprehensive sports medicine care of student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and return-to-play management.
Jones subsequently served as Head Athletic Trainer at Mary Baldwin University, overseeing sports medicine services for the institution's entire athletics program. During her tenure, her primary sport responsibilities included men's soccer, women's basketball and baseball.
She began her athletic training career at Jefferson High School in Shenandoah Junction, West Virginia, through an outreach program with Winchester Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. She later returned to Shenandoah University, where she provided athletic training coverage for several of the university's intercollegiate programs, primarily women's soccer, women's basketball, softball and tennis.
Jones' extensive experience across high school and collegiate athletics, combined with her background working with a broad range of sports, strengthens Morgan State's commitment to providing comprehensive, student-athlete-centered sports medicine services.
Jones earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from James Madison University in 2010 before completing a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Shenandoah University in 2012.
