Dr. Tredell Dorsey

Dr. Tredell Dorsey, Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Performance at Morgan State University has an impressive background in strength and conditioning, with nearly two decades of experience across various collegiate and professional settings. His extensive tenure includes leadership roles at several universities, including Georgia Tech, University of Central Florida,  Lane College, Cleveland State University, Alabama State University, Delaware State University, and Georgia State University.

Notably, in 2016, Dr. Dorsey was certified as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC) by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, a prestigious recognition in his field. His diverse certifications, including USA Weightlifting (USAW), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), and USA Track and Field (USATF), underscore his commitment to total athlete development. He’s also a mentor for upcoming strength and conditioning coaches and serves on numerous committees for the CSCCa.

Dr. Dorsey's work has had significant impacts beyond performance enhancement; at numerous universities, he played a crucial role in reducing injuries and insurance claims through effective yearly strength and conditioning programs. He also contributed to designing state-of-the-art strength and conditioning facilities for the Athletic Department at both Alabama State University, Cleveland State, and Morgan State University.  

His expertise extends beyond collegiate sports, having served as the Director of Player Development at Velocity Sports Performance, where he trained elite and professional athletes and led performance training for the Memphis Xplorers Arena II Football team.

Dr. Dorsey's contributions to the field are also evident through his role as a speaker and fitness/performance writer, as well as his involvement in high-profile projects like the 2004 Nike Grid Iron marketing campaign with prominent athletes such as Michael Vick and LaDainian Tomlinson.

 
A native of Montgomery, Alabama, but raised in Decatur, Georgia, Dr. Dorsey earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island, his master’s degree from Springfield College, and his doctorate from Argosy University.
