Jordan Oliver

A native of Easton, Pennsylvania, Oliver brings an accomplished wrestling résumé, extensive competitive experience and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the mat. Widely known as “JO,” Oliver is one of the most decorated wrestlers of his generation, having excelled at the high school, collegiate, and international levels.

Oliver graduated from Easton Area High School in 2008 after compiling a remarkable 175-5 career record. A three-time Pennsylvania state champion and four-time state finalist, he continued his wrestling career at Oklahoma State University, where he established himself as one of the nation’s premier collegiate wrestlers.

During his career with the Cowboys, Oliver posted a 127-6 record, earned four NCAA Division I All-America honors and reached the NCAA championship finals three times, capturing two national titles. He also won four Big 12 Conference championships, earning Most Outstanding Wrestler honors at the conference tournament twice. Oliver additionally established Oklahoma State’s career record for pins, surpassing the previous mark held by his new coaching colleague, Monday.

Following his collegiate career, Oliver continued to compete at the highest levels of the sport. He became a two-time U.S. Open National Champion and represented Team USA at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo in the 65-kilogram weight class. His competitive experience also extends to mixed martial arts, where he competed under the Bellator, Professional Fighters League (PFL), and Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) banners.

Oliver remains committed to pursuing world and Olympic championship goals as he sets his sights on the 2027 and 2028 international wrestling cycles, including the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Alongside his competitive aspirations, he is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of wrestlers.

“I am honored to coach alongside the legendary Kenny Monday, a personal mentor and trailblazer in the wrestling world,” Oliver said. “Together, we look forward to inspiring and guiding the next generation of champions in life.”

Oliver’s addition brings together two generations of accomplished wrestling talent, with Monday’s experience as an Olympic gold medalist and NCAA champion providing a strong foundation for the Bears’ continued development. The opportunity to work alongside Monday also represents a meaningful connection for Oliver, whose collegiate pin record at Oklahoma State surpassed the mark previously held by the Morgan State head coach.

Beyond the accolades and competitive achievements, Oliver emphasizes the importance of mentorship, personal growth, and family. He views coaching as an opportunity to help student-athletes reach their potential in wrestling while preparing them for success beyond competition.

With Oliver joining the staff, Morgan State adds an accomplished competitor and mentor as the Bears continue building their program and pursuing success in the 2026-27 season.
