Jarod Trice enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Morgan State wrestling program.
Trice brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Morgan State from his International Freestyle and Greco-Roman background.
“We’re no longer a team on paper,” said Trice, “we’re a team competing!”
“Our time is coming soon!”
Trice wrestled collegiately at Mid-American Conference (MAC) power Central Michigan University, which was in the midst of winning 11 straight league championships, including three (2010, 11, 13) during his time there.
Trice, who wrestled at 285 pounds, was a three-time NCAA Division I All-American in 2010, 11 and 13. He captured a MAC individual title in 2011 and had a season-best fourth-place finish that year at the NCAA Championships. Posted 125-14 career record
Trice was a two-time Midlands Champion, which is one of the most prestigious tournaments in college wrestling, held at Northwestern University. He would graduate from Central Michigan in 2013 with a degree in Sports management and a minor in Athletic Coaching
A native of Highland Park, Mich., Trice finished fourth in the 2016 Greco Olympic Trials. He eventually signed an exclusive multi-fight contract with Bellator MMA, a mixed martial arts promotion company on May 2, 2016. Trice would go unbeaten, finishing with a perfect 5-0 mark.
