2012-2013 (Sophomore): Qualified for both Indoor and Outdoor MEAC Championships…In the outdoor season, Angela had a throw of 13.20m in the shot put.
2011-2012 (Freshman): Qualified for the MEAC championships in the Shot put indoor and outdoor...She also qualified in the discus outdoor…She placed 7th in the MEAC 2012 Indoor Championships in the shot put…Angela’s best throw of the season was 13.36m…In the weight throw she has a PR of 13.29m. Angela’s PR in the discus is 127-0.75.
High School: Lettered in Basketball and Track and Field at Pontiac High School…In Track and Field she was named Most Academic, Most Point Field, Most Valuable Field, Most Improved, Outstanding Field, and Rookie of the Year…Her senior year she was awarded Athlete of the year 2010- 2011, and she was awarded for being the first Pontiac High School athlete to take first place at the state track meet…As a junior, Angela placed fifth in the shot put at the MHSAA Division 1 Track and Field Championships…With a dynamic performance the following track season, Angela returned to the MHSAA Division 1 Track and Field Championships placing first in the shot put with a throw of 44 feet, her personal best…Angela also came in first place at the Oakland County Track and Field Championship meet, and in the OAA Gold Division Regional Championship meet…After competing in the Midwest Meet of Champions 2011 representing the state of Michigan, Angela was awarded “Sunkist Athlete of the month of May.”
Personal: Daughter of Freddy and Loretta Bursey…Siblings are La’Shebha Hudges, La’Cretia Ford, La’Fetches Bursey, Ronald Crockett, April Bursey, Freddy Bursey Jr, and the late Everett Harris…Major is physical education; pre-professional physical therapy…Hobbies include culinary arts, stage play productions, movies, music, singing, sports, roller skating, reading, poetry, and spending quality time with family, friends, and God.
