Biography
Sophomore (2006-07): Was a bronze medalist in the shot put at the MEAC indoor championships...Set a national senior record with a throw of 16.38 meters...Was the Gotham Cup Invite (NYC) champion and the HBCU Invite champion...Placed second at the Boston Valentine Invitational with a throw of 16.28 meters.
Freshman (2005-06): Was a MEAC qualifier and shot put champion with a toss of 15.46m, while qualifying for the East Coast championship during the indoor season…Earned bronze in the shot put with a throw of 15.36m and the discus (42m) at the MEAC outdoor championships…Represented the Commonwealth of Dominica at the Carifta Games in Guadeloupe and placed second in the shot put (16.53m) and the discus (49m), setting a new National Junior U-20 records and surpassing previously held records…Took part in the CAC Junior Games held in Trinadad and set a record with a throw of 17.06m and finished third in the discus with a toss of over 51 meters…Competed in the shot put at the CAC Games in Cartagena, Columbia and the World Junior Championships in Beijing, China.
High School: Represented the Commonwealth of Dominica at the 2004 Carifta Games in Bermuda and threw over 15 meters in the shot put and over 47 meters in the discus, placing sixth and seventh, respectively, setting a National U-20 record in each event…Was a member of the Athens 2004 delegation and took part in the Olympic Youth Camp…Placed first in the shot put at the 2003 Carifta Games held in Trinidad, with a throw of 15 meter and a second-place finish in the discus at 43 meters, both national U-17 records…Represented the Commonwealth of Dominica at the 2003 World Youth Games in Sherbrooke, Canada…Competed in the 2002 CAC junior games in Barbados…Achieved government and Dominica Amateur Athletic Association awards as an outstanding athlete in 2003.
