Eric Strugis joined the Bears program as assistant coach in Fall 2019. Strugis comes to Morgan State after previously coaching at Division 2 Western New Mexico University. The women's team at Western New Mexico won their first-ever conference match under the tutaledge of Strugis.

Prior to coaching at Western New Mexico, he was the head coach at Lindenwood University-Belleville, and had the first-ever nationally ranked singles player and doubles team. Strugis led the men's team to a top 30 ranking for the first time in school history.

Sturgis also had stints as the head coach at Lake Superior State University and was an assistant coach at Division I Nicholls State for a semester.Â

Sturgis is USPTR high performance certified and currently lives in Baltimore.
