1. Be on time to each Strength & Conditioning session.
2. Always call ahead to let a staff member know if you are going be late or absent. The only acceptable excuses are at the discretion of the Strength & Conditioning Professional.
3. During the Fall and Spring semesters, athletes may only lift with teams at assigned times, unless prior arrangements have been made with a Strength & Conditioning professional.
4. Always wear athletic shoes that are laced up. No sandals allowed and No street shoes and all shoes must be clean. Athletic shoes covering the entire foot must be worn at all times. Open-toed, backless shoes, and sandals are not permitted.
5. Always wear a t-shirt no tank tops permitted. (No bare back athletes allowed) No shirts that cover the elbow and workout shorts must be above the knees. Workout clothes that fully cover the chest and back must be worn. Shirts are required at all times. JEANS ARE NOT PERMITTED. No jewelry allowed, nothing around ankles, wrist, or neck.
6. Only Morgan State University apparel or plain t-shirts and shorts can be worn.
7. Nothing allowed in the mouth during the workouts. i.e. ice and gum
8. No food or beverage is permitted in the Strength & Conditioning areas. ONLY WATER IN PLASTIC BOTTLES IS ALLOWED. NO GLASS.
9. No horse play.
10. Collars must be used on bars at all times.
11 Always alert staff of preexisting injury or illness prior to the start of each Strength & Conditioning session or full participation of Strength & Conditioning session will be expected with no modifications.
12. Never sacrifice proper technique for heavier weight.
13. Do not use dumbbells on platforms.
14. Always properly re-rack weights, bars, and dumbbells and replace equipment after each use.
15. Never lean plates against walls, mirrors, racks, platforms, or machines, etc.
16. Do not put plates on the ground for any reason. If plates are not on a bar, they should be on a rack.
17. Stay out of Strength & Conditioning offices unless told to enter by a Strength & Conditioning Professional.
18. Remove all dirt and grass from shoes after each field session.
19. Do not execute any lift, stretch, or drills in the hallway unless told other wise by a Strength & Conditioning Professional.
20. Do not remove any equipment from storage closet unless instructed to by a Strength & Conditioning Professional.
21. No spitting on the weight room floor.
22. Be excited and enthusiastic about Strength & Conditioning. This does not mean distract your teammates.
23. Always focus on the task at hand and focus on the details of each lift.
24. Finish every repetition of every set. Don’t cheat yourself, your team, or your university.

26. All Strength Training equipment must stay in its original location. Moving equipment is not permitted.
27. Make a conscious effort to improve every Strength & Conditioning session.
28. The Strength & Conditioning Staff is here to help you improve as an athlete. Be professional, courteous, and respectful in your dealings with the Strength & Conditioning Staff.
29. Abuse of property (slamming weight stacks, dropping weights to the floor, etc.) and verbal or physical abuse of participants or staff will not be tolerated. Violators will be asked to leave the facility immediately and are subject to Disciplinary Actions.

2. TEMPO IS URGENT – THERE IS NO TIME TO SIT DOWN. TIME EFFICIENCEY IS CRUCIAL TO SUCCESS.
3. ATTENTION TO DETAIL – PERFORM THE PROPER NUMBER OF REPETITIONS WITH THE LEVEL OF RESISTANCE SPECIFICALLY PRESCRIBED. ANY DEVIATION MUST BE APPROVED.
4. PRESS – TO IMPROVE ANY PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTE YOU MUST CONSISTENTLY ATTEMPT TO PERFORM AT A HIGHER LEVEL. ADD WEIGHT TO THE BAR. WORK TO IMPROVE RUNNING TIMES. WORK TO INCREASE THE SPEED OF THE BAR. MAINTAIN AN EXPLOSIVE MINDSET.
5. FINISH – STAND UP STRAIGHT DURING CONDITIONING. DON’T SHOW PAIN. IMPROVING YOUR LEVEL OF TOUGHNESS, IT STARTS BETWEEN THE EARS. CONDITION YOUR MIND TO DEFEAT ANY IMPULSE TO QUIT.
