At MORGAN STATE: Charles was the 2009 outdoor MEAC runner-up in 400m hurdles, the 2010 indoor MEAC runner-up in the 400 meter. MEAC outdoor runner-up in 400m hurdles, IC4A champion in the 400m hurdles and an NCAA Qualifier two year in a row, 2010 and 2011.
