Junior (2010): Named to the MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team…Named to the Morgan State All-Academic second team…Finished with a 7-12 overall mark, including a 7-9 record at No. 2 singles…Tallied a combined 6-11 doubles record at the No. 1 spot, including a 6-10 mark when paired with Nekesa Thomas.

Sophomore (2009): Named to the MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team…Named to the Morgan State All-Academic second team…Led the team in wins with an 8-6 singles record, including a 7-5 mark at No. 3 singles…Recorded a 4-1 MEAC record…Went 2-10 in doubles action while paired with Nekesa Thomas (2-9) at No. 1 doubles and Pola Olczak (0-1) at No. 2 doubles.

Freshman (2008): Garnered MEAC Rookie of the Year honors and was one of three Lady Bears to be named to the All-MEAC first team and one of four Lady Bears to earn All-MEAC honors…Received the team’s rookie award…Tied for the team lead for most wins, finishing with a 13-6 mark to help Morgan State to its best season in recent history, following a team mark of 12-8 and 3-2 in conference play…Recorded an 11-5 singles record at the No. 2 spot and finished with a 13-3 doubles record…Went 12-2 at No. 1 doubles with partner Walaa Elsir, including an 8-2 mark in their last 10 matches.

High School: Was a four-year letterwinner in tennis at Morgan Park High…Earned team MVP honors twice, while helping the Mustangs to two Chicago City championships…Played No. 1 singles for three years…Was coached by Nancy Haulbauer during her freshman and sophomore seasons and Lamont Bryant and Jon Hall-Bryant during her junior and senior seasons, respectively…Was an honor roll student…Raised money for the Make-A-Wish foundation and taught local children the game of tennis through workshops.

Personal: Born on August 7, 1989, in Chicago, Ill….Daughter of Darrell and Angela McCoy…Major is physical therapy…Career ambitions are to become an athletic trainer for a NFL team or some celebrity or to go pro in tennis…Hobbies include traveling, shopping, going to the movies, long walks on the beach, spending time with family and friends and sleeping...Spent the summer working at three different park districts teaching people tennis.
