WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 14, 2026)--The Morgan State women's tennis team closed out the regular season spoiling Howard's Senior Day festivities, following a 5-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) victory on Monday afternoon at Southeast Tennis & Learning Center.
With the win, Morgan State (13-7, 5-1 MEAC), concluded the regular season winning three straight and nine of their last 10 matches. Howard fell to 5-11 overall and 4-2 in the MEAC.
The Lady Bears also finished tied atop the league standings with Norfolk State with 5-1 conference records. Morgan State defeated Norfolk State 6-1 when they met during the MEAC Round-Up (3/28) and will hold the top-seed heading into the upcoming MEAC Tennis Championship (April 23-25) in Cary, N.C.
Morgan State began the match claiming the doubles point after winning two of the three contests. The Lady Bears' tandem of
Julia Jeffrey and
Michaela Stephens earned a 7-6 (9-7) victory at No. 2 and
Tyler Williams and
Damla Arslan were partnered at No. 3 doubles and cruised to a 6-0 victory.
The guests then secured victory in four of the six singles matches to earn the win. Stephens would defeat Howard's Imani Jean at the No. 1 position 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 and
Amira Bargaoui claimed her 11
th win of the season, following a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3 over Camille Hall.
Williams would extend her winning streak to 11 straight, after picking up a 6-4, 6-3 win over Howard's Dana Hall at the No. 5 spot.
Lauryn Hall closed out Morgan's victory with a No. 6 win over Chloe Goins 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (9-7).
Next Up: The Lady Bears will now prepare for the upcoming MEAC Tennis Championship scheduled for April 23-25 in Cary, N.C. at the Cary Tennis Park.
