BALTIMORE, Md. (March 21, 2026)--The Lady Bears' softball team finally took to the playing surface of Lois T. Murray Field for the first time this season on Saturday, as they played host to North Carolina Central. Morgan State would win its home opener over the Eagles, 5-2 to pick up its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) win of the season.
 
Morgan State (4-15, 1-3 MEAC), winners of three straight, scored five runs on nine hits, while the Eagles, who dropped to 4-22, 3-1 MEAC, recorded two runs on six hits.
 
Olivia Pagano went 1-for-3 at the plate with a game high 3 RBI to lead the Lady Bears. Cassie White and Millie Cousins each had two hits. Cousins (3-7) also went the distance on the mound, tossing four strikeouts in the win.
 
T Suttles paced the Eagles with two hits, a run and RBI and had two stolen bases.
 
N.C. Central took a quick 2-0 lead, just four batters into the game. Tyler Suttles singled to right field to score a run and Mia De La Fuente singled to right center to bring home the second run.
 
Morgan State responded with a run in the bottom of the second when Pagano flied out to center to score Cousins. The Lady Bears went back to work in the second, this time erupting for four runs, capped off by Pagano's two-run single up the middle to give Morgan a 5-2 advantage.
 
The Lady Bears and N.C. Central will conclude the three-game series on Sunday, March 22 with a doubleheader beginning at 12 noon at Lois T. Murray Field.
