Bogans Named MEAC Defensive Player Of The Week

NORFOLK, Va. (Feb. 23, 2026)--Morgan State sophomore guard Michaela Bogans was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Wells Fargo, the conference office announced on Monday. It's the first-ever MEAC weekly honor for Bogans.

Howard senior forward Nile Miller was named MEAC Player of the Week, while Maryland Eastern Shore freshman Kaliya Perry earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors.

A native of Augusta, Ga., Bogans recorded her first collegiate double-double, finishing with a career- and game-high 10 steals and 11 points, while adding five assists and four rebounds in a win at South Carolina State (2/16). She would fall one shy of tying the school record of 11 steals in a game held by Corin Adams (11/21/07-NC Central), Kaira Warfield (2/4/96-Maryland Eastern Shore) and Mary Frazier (1/10/81-West Chester).

Bogans' 10 steals currently lead the MEAC this season and are the most in a game by a Morgan State player since the 2010-11 season, when Moneshia Davis collected 10 steals against Northwestern State (11/27/10).

Morgan State returns to the court this Thursday, Feb. 26 when the Lady Bears host Norfolk State at 6 p.m. at Hill Field House.
