Morgan State Wrestling Suffers Loss at Franklin & Marshall

BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 11, 2026) — The Morgan State wrestling team fell 51–0 to Franklin & Marshall University on Wednesday evening in an Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) dual at the Mayser Center in Lancaster, Pa.

The Bears found themselves in an early 23–0 deficit after a major decision and a fall at 133 and 141 pounds, along with forfeits at 149 and 157.

The Diplomats extended the lead to 28–0 following a technical fall by Josh Palmucci over junior Joshua Greenwood.

Junior Cort Vann battled Brandon Carr in one of the most competitive matches of the night. After a scoreless first period marked by heavy hand fighting, Carr opened the second with an escape to take a 1–0 lead into the third. Carr accumulated more than two minutes of riding time, and although Vann escaped to tie the match at 1–1, Carr's riding time point secured a 2–1 decision and pushed the Diplomats' advantage to 31–0.

Sophomore Bryce Phillips faced No. 5-ranked James Conway at 184 pounds but fell by a 20–3 technical fall.

Franklin & Marshall added another technical fall at 197 pounds when senior Erick Washington Jr. dropped his bout to Leo Varga.

In the heavyweight matchup, Brody Kline pinned freshman Eli Turpin, while James Garcia earned a 17–4 major decision over Julian Dawson at 125 pounds to seal the 51–0 victory.

With the win, Franklin & Marshall improved to 6–3 overall and 4–2 in EIWA action.

Morgan State will look to rebound on Saturday, Feb. 14, when the Bears host Sacred Heart at Hurt Gymnasium for Senior Day.
