EDUCATION DAY: Morgan State held its fourth annual Education Day on Monday, Nov. 2 when the Lady Bears played host to Washington Adventist at 11 a.m. at Hill Field House in the season opener. It was the third straight meeting between the two teams on Education Day. Last season the Bears defeated the Shock, 88-49.

MORGAN IN SEASON OPENERS: The Lady Bears improved to 16-34 all-time in season openers dating back to 1977, following their 103-47 victory over Washington Adventist on Monday. Morgan State at one point had lost 23 straight season openers prior to winning three straight from 2006-08.

MORGAN PICKED FIFTH IN MEAC: The Morgan State Lady Bears were picked to finish fifth in the 2025-26 MEAC Preseason poll. The Lady Bears, who finished sixth a season ago, received 40 points. Defending MEAC regular season and tournament champion Howard was picked to claim the title with 10 first-place votes and 86 points. Norfolk State was picked to finish second with 76 points and Maryland Eastern Shore was third with one first-place vote and 56 points. Coppin State (47) was fourth, followed by Morgan State (40). North Carolina Central was picked sixth with 36 points, Delaware State (34) was selected seventh and South Carolina State (17) was eighth.

410 INVITATIONAL: New to Morgan State's schedule this season will be the inaugural 410 Invitational, powered by Under Armour. The tournament will feature the men's and women's teams of all four Division I Baltimore area Under Armour apparel schools (Morgan State, Loyola University Maryland, Towson University and the University of Maryland Baltimore County). With the addition of Loyola Maryland, the 410 Invitational will replace the Charm City Hoops Classic, which featured only Morgan State, Towson and UMBC and began at the start of the 2023-24 campaign and ran through the 2025-26 season. In 2023, the three local foes agreed to play each other every year in both men's and women's basketball in what is being billed as the Charm City Hoops Classic. Prior to the Charm City Hoops Classic, the three schools previously participated in the Battle of Baltimore series for six seasons from the 1997-98 season through the 2002-03 campaign.

THE RIVALRY CONTINUES: This season crosstown rivals Morgan State and Coppin State will meet for the 97th and 98th times in the annual 'East vs. West' season series. Round 1 will take place on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2027 at Hill Field House and Round 2 will take place on Thursday, March 4, 2027 in the regular season finale at PEC Arena. The Lady Bears enter the 2026-27 campaign holding a 49-47 all-time series and have won 15 of the last 19 regular season contests over the Eagles. Also known as the 'Battle of Baltimore' or simply 'Coppin-Morgan', this will mark the sixth consecutive season that Morgan State and Coppin State will close out the regular season playing against each other in the season finale.

SAYING GOODBYE: Morgan State will say goodbye to four players: graduate player Mihjae Hayes and seniors Dakota Alston, Mercy Lasu, and Merit Innocent, who will play in their final collegiate home game at Hill Field House on Saturday, Feb. 13. Morgan will honor its seniors on 'Senior Night' prior to the Lady Bears' home finale against South Carolina State at 2 p.m.

2026 MEAC TOURNAMENT: The 2027 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) men's and women's basketball tournament is scheduled for March 10-13, 2027 at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va. The annual MEAC Basketball Tournament moved to Norfolk in 2013 after spending the previous four years in Winston-Salem, N.C. from 2009 through 2012.
