Morgan State Women Split Squad for Solid Showing in Boston

BALTIMORE, Md. (Jan. 31, 2026) -- The Morgan State women's track & field team split its squad this weekend, competing at the John Thomas Terrier Classic in Boston on Friday before traveling to Cambridge, Mass., for the Harvard Invitational on Saturday.

"This weekend's performances were a wake-up call for our team because we didn't show up ready to meet the challenges," said Morgan State head coach Neville Hodge. "However, we will continue to strive toward our goals."
 
DAY 1 January 30 | John Thomas Terrier Classic | Results

Morgan opened competition at the John Thomas Terrier Classic with several solid performances in both field and track events. Freshman Terry-Ann Thompson led the way in the field, placing ninth in the weight throw with a personal best mark of 15.56 meters. Fellow freshman Aleah Alexander cleared 1.58 meters to finish 12th in the high jump.

On the track, freshman Anyra Knight posted a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 8.99 seconds. Sophomore Jatavia Robinson recorded a season-best time of 24.96 in the 200 meters to place 16th in the invitational section.

Pole Vault
 Freshman Raven Johnson cleared 3.06m.

High Jump
Freshman Aleah Alexander finished 12th after clearing 1.58 meters.

Weight Throw
Freshman Terry-Ann Thompson led the way with a personal best throw of 15.56 meters for a ninth-place finish.  Senior Brylan Carter recorded a throw of 14.19 meters for 13th.

Track Events:

60H Invite
Freshman Anyra Knight qualified for the finals with a time of 8.97 in the preliminaries and went on to place sixth in the final, clocking 8.99.

60m Invite
 Sophomore Jatavia Robinson placed 15th in the preliminaries, crossing the line in 7.79.

400m Open
Sophomore Janiya Glass finished 21st by posting times of 58.83

800m Open
Freshman Sydney Monroe ran a time of 2:29.92.

200m Invite
Sophomore Jatavia Robinson clocked a season-best 24.96 to place 16th, while Janiya Glass followed with a time of 25.36 to finish 22nd.
4x400m
The Lady Bears recorded a time of 4:28.49.

1 Mile Open
Crystal Coke recorded a time of 5:31.97.


DAY 2 | January 31 | Harvard Invitational | Results

Terry-Ann Thompson returned to action in the weight throw against a strong field at the Harvard Invitational, with the freshman placing second after a toss of 15.49 meters. Also leading the field events, freshman Aleah Alexander cleared 1.55 meters to finish fifth in the high jump open.

On the track, sophomore Janiya Glass raced to a seventh-place finish in the 200 meters with a personal best time of 25.53, while sophomore Jatavia Robinson clocked 7.76 to place 15th in the 60 meters.

Freshman Terry-Ann Thompson led the way with a throw of 15.49 meters for a second-place finish. Senior Brylan Carter recorded a season best mark of 15.00m to place seventh.

High Jump Open
Freshman Aleah Alexander finished in fifth place after clearing 1.55 meters on her fourth attempt.

Pole Vault Open
Freshman Raven Johnson cleared 3.00m (T-22nd).

Track Events:
3000m
Junior Crystal Coke recorded a season best time of 10:56.48 (25th).

60m Prelims
Sophomore Jatavia Robinson recorded a time of 7.76 to place 15th.

60H Prelims
Freshman Anyra Knight posted a time of 9.08 (23rd).

200m
Sophomore Janiya Glass raced to a seventh-place finish with a personal best time of 25.53.

800m
Freshman Sydney Monroe recorded a time of 2:30.51 (28th)
