BALTIMORE, Md. (March 6, 2025) — The Morgan State University wrestling team is set to face a formidable challenge as they travel to Lehigh University for the prestigious 121st EIWA Championships. The event, kicking off this Friday at Lehigh's Stabler Arena, marks a significant opportunity for the Bears to test their mettle against some of the top collegiate wrestling programs in the East.
The EIWA Championships are known for their intense competition and high stakes, serving as a qualifier for the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. For Morgan's wrestlers, this is a chance to showcase their skills and potentially earn a coveted spot on the national stage.
Wrestling gets underway at 10 a.m. with the championship first round and quarterfinals. Friday's Session II begins at 4 p.m. with the consolation first round, championship semifinals, and consolation quarterfinals. Wrestling concludes Saturday with the consolation semifinals and seventh-place matches at 10 a.m., the EIWA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 12 p.m., and the championship finals, third-place, and fifth-place matches beginning at 12:15 p.m.
A total of 22 automatic bids to the NCAA Championships in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, are up for grabs at the EIWA Championships, as well as the overall team title and individual championships, in the 120th edition of the competition.

Morgan will be sending Julian Dawson (125), Shawn Ryncarz (133), Myrin Nixon (141), Yannis Charles (149), Joshua Greenwood (157), Cooper Lockhart (165), Darrien Roberts (174), Kingsley Menifee (184), Eric Washington Jr. (197), and Xavier Doolin (285). In the EIWA Rankings on Feb. 25, Doolin is No. 5 at 285.
