ATHENS, Ohio (Nov. 8, 2025) -- Morgan State experienced a tough outing against the Ohio Bobcats in a lopsided 44-2 defeat during the Ohio Showcase Saturday night inside the Convocation Center.
Unfortunately, the Bears struggled to find their footing against their formidable MAC opponent. The Bobcats showcased their dominance on the mat, improving their record to 1-0 in their first dual of the season. In contrast, Morgan's loss dropped them to 0-1 overall.
The Bobcats won nine of 10 bouts, including six by bonus points.
Sophomore newcomer Eugene Harney, who recently claimed 2nd place at the Navy Classic, emerged as the standout performer for the Bears, clinching the team's sole victory of the night against Carson Weber in a nail-biting 1-0 contest during the 149-pound bout.
Up Next: Morgan State returns to action on Nov. 16th, when the Bears host Duke and EIWA opponent Drexel.
