Men’s Tennis Drops 6-1 Decision to Delaware

Senior standout Mikeal Carpenter secured victory at No. 1 singles.

NEWARK, Del. (Jan. 24, 2025) -- The Morgan State men's tennis team faced a challenging start to their 2025 season as they took on the University of Delaware on Friday at the Elton Indoor Tennis Courts. Despite their efforts, the Bears were unable to match the performance of the Blue Hens, who cruised to an impressive 6-1 victory.

The Blue Hens won at five of the six singles spots and earned the doubles point to earn a 1-0 start to the season.

The lone bright spot for the Bears came from a hard-fought singles victory.

Senior standout Mikeal Carpenter picked up a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 win against Delaware's Karol Malirz at No. 1 singles to help the Bears avoid a shutout.
