BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 21, 2024)--The Morgan State Lady Bears will finally begin the second half of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) slate this evening, Feb. 21 when they welcome Maryland Eastern Shore to Hill Field House. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m. Morgan State, which is in the midst of a season-long 16-day layoff, had its last two contests postponed due to Covid-19 within the Morgan State program. This evening's game was originally scheduled for Feb. 17.

MEN'S & WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RADIO: All home games and select away games for MSU men's and women's basketball will once again be available through Heritage Sports Radio Network (HSRN.com). Lamont Germany will handle play-by-play responsibilities and will also host pre-game and post-game shows. Including exclusive interviews with members of the teams and women's coach Ed Davis and men's coach Kevin Broadus. BEAR CLAWS: Morgan State (7-15, 2-5 MEAC) last played on Feb. 5, a heartbreaking 66-65 road loss at North Carolina Central. Morgan's Gabrielle Johnson appeared to have hit the game winner at the buzzer, but her shot was ruled no good and the host Eagles survived at home. Anjanae Muech came off the bench to score a season-high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting and added seven rebounds, two steals and a block to lead Morgan State. Amari Smith also scored 15 points, had six rebounds and a block. Jael Butler finished with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, grabbed six rebounds and had a block and a steal.

BIRD SEEDS: Maryland Eastern Shore (11-12, 4-4 MEAC) is coming off a 73-51 victory at home over Coppin State on Monday, to end a two-game losing skid. Mya Thomas scored 13 points and had a team-high six boards, while Jala Bannerman came off the bench to score 12 points and recorded a game-high four steals in the win. Chaniqwa Gilliam finished with eight points, a game-high five assists and had three steals.
 
MSU VS. UMES SERIES NOTES: Maryland Eastern Shore leads the all-time series, 46-43. Morgan State, which has won 11 of the last 16 meetings, ended a two-game losing skid to the Hawks with its 48-45 win earlier this season in Princess Anne, Md. (1/6).
 
NEXT UP: Morgan State will head to the Nation's Capital on Saturday, Feb. 24 to face Beltway rival Howard at 2 p.m. at Burr Gymnasium in Washington, D.C.
 
2024 MEAC TOURNAMENT: The 2024 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) men's and women's basketball tournament is scheduled for March 13-16, 2024 at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va. The annual MEAC Basketball Tournament moved to Norfolk in 2013 after spending the previous four years in Winston-Salem, N.C. from 2009 through 2012.
