BAYAMÓN, P.R. (Dec. 19, 2024)--Jordana Reisma scored 17 points, grabbed eight rebounds and added two blocks, all game highs and Mickayla Perdue finished with 11 points and a steal, to lead Cleveland State past Morgan State, 56-39 on Thursday afternoon in the Puerto Rico Clasico at Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum. It was the first meeting between the two programs.

Morgan State (6-8) was paced by
Tamaria Rumph, who finished with nine points, three assists and two steals, all team highs.
Gabrielle Johnson added seven points, while
Jael Butler finished with a team-high eight rebounds, as the Lady Bears concluded their trip to Puerto Rico with a 1-1 record for the second consecutive year.

The Lady Bears, who led 10-9 at the end of the first quarter, took a 20-16 lead with 4:49 left in the second quarter, following a three-pointer by
Dakota Alston. Cleveland State closed out the quarter scoring the final four points to even the score at 20-20 at the half.

The Vikings (10-2), winners of eight straight, used a 19-0 run in the third period to outscore Morgan State 22-7 in the quarter and take a 42-27 lead at the end of the third.

Cleveland State used a 10-2 run to start the fourth quarter, capped off by a three-point play by Reosma to give the Vikings their largest lead of the game (23 points) at 52-29 with 2:47 remaining.

The Lady Bears will take the next 11 days off for the holiday break, before returning to action on Monday, Dec. 30 to host Mount St. Mary's at 2 p.m. at Hill Field House.
