CARY, N.C. (April 27, 2023)--Morgan State's women's tennis season came to an end Thursday morning, following a 4-1 defeat to Beltway rival Howard, in a quarterfinal match in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championships at Cary Tennis Park.

The fourth-seeded Bison (8-10) advance to Friday's MEAC semifinal round where they will face top-seed South Carolina State at 9 a.m.

Howard would win four of the five completed matches on Thursday to claim the victory.

Morgan State (8-12) got its lone win on the day from All-MEAC second team selection
Hannah Smith. The sophomore bounced back to defeat Howard's Selah Stibbins, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 in a No. 2 singles contest.
