Morgan's Burke Named To HBCU All-Star Game

BALTIMORE, Md. – Morgan state senior guard Isaiah Burke has been invited to participate in the second annual HBCU All-Star Game during Final Four weekend in Houston. The game will air live on the CBS Sports Network on Sunday, April 2 at 4 p.m.

Burke, an All- Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference First Team selection, is one of 24 players from HBCUs across the country invited to participate. Burke averaged 18.7 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, while shooting .451 from the floor, .420 from the three and .719 from the free-throw line. He helped lead the Bears to a 15-16 record before falling in the MEAC Tournament quarterfinals to Maryland Eastern Shore.

Burke will play for Team Dr. Dick Barnett, comprised of players from the SIAC, MEAC and Independents.

According to Travis L. Williams, HBCU All-Stars, LLC Founder/CEO: "We are preparing to make history once again by showcasing the "Best in Black College Basketball" on a national platform and hosting the first ever HBCU All-Star Game on an HBCU campus during College Basketball's Biggest Weekend.  It was a blessing meeting Houston's Mayor Sylvester Turner and his Chief of Staff Marvalette Hunter, numerous community and business partners, faith leaders, and educators attending HBCU All-Stars Community Breakfast meet and greet hosted by NAACP Houston Branch, doing television and radio interviews, and attending the Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M University rivalry game in a sold-out H&PE arena.  This was a big-time college basketball atmosphere that went into double overtime and TSU and PVAMU bands, cheerleaders, dance teams, fraternities, sororities, and fans in attendance dancing, stepping, singing, smiling, screaming, and cheering to the very end."
