LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Dec. 3, 2023) — The Morgan State wrestling team finished competition today at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. In a field of 36 teams, including six of the top ten ranked teams in the country, the Bears finished 34th.
Morgan wrestler Shawn Ryncarz lost in the round of 32 to No. 10 Caden McCrary of North Carolina, 5-1, at 133. He bounced back with a 14-5 win over Ohio's Mason Brugh, followed by suffering a 15-0 decision to No. 3 ranked Julian Chiebove of Arizona State.
The Bears 184-pounder Kingsley Menifee lost to No. 12 Dylan Fishback of N.C. State in the Round of 32. The freshman from Warrentown, Va. would go on to defeat Citadel's Adam Ortega, 4-1, in the consolation round, before falling short, 12-9, in a tough battle against Gavin Hoffman of Ohio State.
