BALTIMORE, Md. (Dec. 15, 2023) — The Morgan State wrestling team will hit the road to face No. 21 North Carolina on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 5 p.m. inside Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill, N.C. The dual will be streamed live on North Carolina Athletics's website.

Saturday's Morgan-North Carolina dual begins at 5 p.m. EST and all matches will be streamed live on ACCNX.

The Bears are 1-6 on the season in dual competition, while North Carolina is 5-2 and NWCA Coaches Poll has the Tar Heels at 21.

• Morgan was wrestling in its first competition in 25 years after the program was reinstated this season to make it the only HBCU with a Division I wrestling program.

• In October 2021, the University announced its plans to revive the men's wrestling program at Morgan with the support a $2.7-million gift from HBCU Wrestling (HBCUW), a new initiative reestablishing wrestling programs on HBCU campuses. The gift, which is among the largest received from a private donor to the University, provides funding for the program and supports up to nine full scholarships annually.
