Taylor Addison scored a game-high 21 points and pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds to lead Morgan State past Maryland Eastern Shore (MDES), 76-65 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) contest on Monday at Hill Field House.

With the victory, Morgan State (13-6, 6-0 MEAC) matched its season-long winning streak at six games, while also setting the school's record for best MEAC start at 6-0. The Lady Bears also improved to 9-0 at home this season, extending their homecourt winning streak to 15 straight. Morgan State has now won 35 of its last 38 games at home dating back to the 2018-19 campaign.

A native of Columbia, Md., Addison shot 8-for-12 from the floor, including a career-best 5-for-7 from three-point range, while totaling two assists and two steals.

Charlene Shepherd finished with 19 points, three rebounds and dished out a game-high five assists to go with two steals and a block. Shepherd, who began her collegiate career at North Texas, has a combined 920 points for her collegiate career and is 80 points away from reaching the 1,000-point mark.

Ja'Niah Henson knocked down 3-of-5 from three-point range to total 16 points, while adding three rebounds, three assists and steal in the win.

The Lady Bears, who led from start to finish for the second consecutive game, forced 23 MDES turnovers and scored 24 points off those turnovers.

Morgan State, which led 42-38 at the intermission, took its largest lead of the game of 14 points at 58-44 on Addison's fifth and final three-pointer of the evening with 2:24 left in the third quarter.

The Hawks (5-15, 1-5 MEAC) were led by Ariana Seawell, who came off the bench to score 20 points on 6-for-12 shooting and seven rebounds. Seawell would also finish 8-for-8 from the free throw line, as the guests connected on 25-of-32 (78%) from the charity stripe. Morgan State was 17-for-22 (77%) from the line. Ja'la Bannerman tallied 18 points and had a game-high four steals for MDES, which dropped its 10
th in the last 13 meetings against the Lady Bears.

The Lady Bears will be off until next Monday, Feb. 6, when they host the South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. at Hill Field House. The game, which was originally scheduled for Monday, Jan. 9, but was postponed.
