ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Jan. 29, 2023)--The Morgan State women's tennis team traveled to the Naval Academy on Sunday to face the Mids in a non-conference match at Tose Family Center. Navy would defeat the Lady Bears, 7-0.

With Navy (3-2) leading 6-0, Morgan State's
Asmara Rose nearly prevented the shutout, as she went the distance with Navy's Stella Ribaudo at No. 1 singles. Rose won the first set 7-5, before falling 6-4 and 10-8.

Morgan State's No. 3 doubles team of
Anabel Aran and
Ana-Lei Kalawe earned a 6-4 victory over Ellie Choate and Hanna Elks Smith of Navy. However, the Mids would capture the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.

The Lady Bears (0-2) will take on Villanova in a non-conference contest this afternoon at 2 p.m. The match will also be played on the Naval Academy campus at the Brigade Sports Complex.
