MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (Sept. 3, 2022) – Junior Davian Gray had a strong collegiate debut in his first race as a Morgan Bear on Saturday, placing ninth overall at the Spider Alumni Open, at Polo Green Park, in the cross country season-opener for the Bears.
Gray, a junior transfer from Essex C.C., finished the men's 6K course in 19:47.3. Sophomore Nasir Wallace completed the course in 20:38.0, followed by newcomer Levi Bryant (20:50.2), sophomore Devion Bryant (21:067) and Justin Alston (21:47.7). Keon Witherspoon registered a time of 22:31.0
Georgetown's Quinn Nicholason (17:31.0) and Sean Laidlaw (17:31.7) placed first and second, respectively, while Virginia's Jack Eliason finished third with a time of 17:32.8.
Morgan will return to competition on Sept. 24 at the Maryland Eastern Shore Farm Run in Princess Anne.
