The Lady Bears would come out victorious, defeating the Hornets 9-0 in five innings in the opener and claiming a 10-2 win in the nightcap.

It became 2-0 when Jason scored on a throwing error by the catcher. Mia Ewell and Tayven Rousseau hit back-to-back singles up the middle to score Delph and Asia Thomas, respectively, to make it a 4-0 Morgan advantage.

The guests went back to work in the fourth inning, erupting for five more runs to increase their lead to 9-0. Mia Ewell singled to left field to drive in Jason and Delph. Rousseau would reach on a fielding error, which allowed Thomas to score the third run of the inning for a 7-0 lead. Mia Ewell scored the eighth run on a wild pitch and Ky'Anah Lake later scored also on a wild pitch for the ninth and final run.

Morgan State finished the game with nine runs on nine hits. Mia Ewell was 3-for-3 at the plate with a game-high 3RBIs and a run scored. Jason was 2-for-2 with two runs and a walk, while Rousseau drove in two runs on a hit and had a walk. Delph finished 1-for-1 with two runs, RBI and a game-high two walks. Delaware State's Jonah Cunnigan finished 1-for-2, recording the Hornets' lone hit of the game when she doubled down the leftfield line in the bottom of the third.

Next up for Morgan State will be a crucial three-game series at home against MEAC leader Maryland Eastern Shore (April 15-16).
