Â
The win helped Morgan State earn a series split this weekend, as well as a season split against Howard with both teams winning two games apiece.
Â
Morgan State improved to 9-3 overall and 6-2 in the MEAC. The Lady Bears also avenged their lone home loss of the season, which came to Howard (1/2), by handing the Bison (9-3, 5-2 MEAC) their first home loss of the season.

Ashia McCalla scored on a layup up early in the third quarter to give the guests a 31-23 lead. Triggered by a three-pointer by Thornton, the Bison went on an 18-8 run to erase the deficit and take a two-point lead (41-39) on Kaiya Creek's layup with 4:12 to play in the third.
Â
The two would trade leads five times and had two ties for the next 4:11 of the third until
Ja'Niah Henson was fouled on a three-point attempt with a second left on the clock. Henson hit all three free throws to up the Lady Bears' lead to 50-46 at the end of three quarters.
Â
Morgan State maintained its lead throughout the fourth and extended it to a six-point advantage when
Nina Carpenter hit a turnaround jumper in the lane with 2:40 to play to give the guests a 60-54 lead.
Â
Howard would continue to fight and behind a mini 7-2 run, the Bison pulled within a point at 62-61 after Warren, who went 11-for-14 from the free throw line, connected on two free throws with 12 seconds to play. Morgan State closed out the game hitting three of its final four free throw attempts to secure the four-point victory. Â Â
Â
The Lady Bears finished the game shooting 24-of-61 (39 percent). Morgan State was just 1-for-11 (9 percent) from three-point range and hit 73 percent (16-of-22) from the free throw line.
