FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. (Feb. 1, 2020)-The Morgan State women's tennis team lost its non-conference match at St. John's by the score of 6-1 on Saturday at the USTA National Tennis Center. It was the first meeting between the two programs.
 
The host Red Storm (1-1) swept all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point and won five of the six singles matches for the victory. Anabel Torrente took the Red Storm's Camila Ordonez to three sets, before falling 4-6, 6-2, 10-5.
 
Morgan State's (1-2) lone victory of the day came at No. 2, when Averiana Mitchell defeated St. John's Milka Genkova in three sets 2-6, 6-4, 11-9.
 
The Lady Bears are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 8 when they play host to Harford CC at the Twin Lakes Racquet Club.
