BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 11, 2020)-The Lady Bears got back in the win column with a decisive 4-0 victory over No. 17 Harford Community College Saturday night at Twin Lakes Racquet Club.
 
The Lady Bears improved to 2-3 on the season, while the Fighting Owls dropped their season opener.
 
Morgan State started out with a victory at #3 doubles with Dana Santiago/Stefania Moysiadi 6-0 defeating over Camila Lopez/Maria Lopez. The Lady Bears then clinched the doubles point with a victory at #2 doubles Jourdan Wallace/Ana-Lei Kalawe 6-0 over Lianna Tillinghast/Paula Martinez. The Lady Bears also won at #1 doubles with the tandem of Asmara Rose/Averiana Mitchell with a 6-4 victory over Alizee Ripolles/Teona Urushadze.

The Lady Bears went into singles play up 1-0 and continued their dominance starting with Wallace's 6-0, 6-0 victory over Urushadze at #2 singles. Picking up where Wallace left off was freshman Ana-Lei Kalawe winning 6-1, 6-1 at #3 singles over Tillinghast. Morgan State clinched the victory with Mitchell winning at #1 singles over Ripolles 2-6, 6-3, 10-6. 
 
The Lady Bears continue non-conference play next week on Friday at Duquesne University.
