BALTIMORE, Md. (March 11, 2018)-
Damali Young was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a RBI and two runs scored to lead Morgan State past St. Bonaventure, 10-0 in five innings in the finale of the MSU Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Lois T. Murray Field.

Morgan State would go 2-1 over the weekend in their invitational, and avenge last weekend's 10-3 loss to the Bonnies during the MSU Tournament.

The Lady Bears (7-10) would finish the day scoring 10 runs on 11 hits.
Giselle Alvarez would finish with a game-high 3RBI after going 2-for-4 at the plate, while
Jalian Young batted 2-for-3 with two runs and 2RBI.

Morgan State did all its damage in the second and fourth innings, scoring five runs each. The Lady Bears first got on the board in the second inning when
Jalian Young singled to right field, scoring two runs for a 2-0 lead. Three batters later Alvarez singled to short to score and run and Gabrielle Gorosave grounded out to second to bring in the fourth run.
Stormy Zyzyk then drew a bases loaded walk to score
Damali Young for the fifth run of the inning.

The Lady Bears went back to work in the bottom of the fourth inning with
Anissa Morales' RBI double to left field to make it a 6-0 Morgan State lead.
Damali Young singled to center field to score
Rachel Daugherty and
Jalian Young to increase Morgan's lead to 8-0. Alvarez then hit a 2RBI single to center field to put the hosts up 10-0.

Amy Begg improved to 4-5 on the season after earning her third shutout victory of the season, extending her mark as Morgan State's all-time career shutouts leader to 10. Begg would pitch a complete game, allowing three hits and two walks, while recording five strikeouts in five innings of work.

St. Bonaventure's Josie Borysevicz was charged with the loss and fell to 1-4 on the season. Borysevicz pitched two innings and surrendered five runs on four hits, two walks and had a strikeout. Alexandra Piergustavo led the Bonnies at the plate with a 1-for-1 performance and a walk.

The Lady Bears return to action on Wednesday, March 14 when they welcome Mount St. Mary's to Lois T. Murray Field for a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is at 2 p.m.
