SAN JUAN, P.R. (Dec. 20, 2016)-The Lady Bears opened up their visit to San Juan with a 62-51 non-conference loss to Campbell on Tuesday evening at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in the Puerto Rico Classico.

The Camels (7-3) improved to 2-0 all-time against Morgan State, while also increasing their winning streak to a season-long four straight. The Lady Bears fell to 2-8 on the season and have dropped two straight.
Summer Price scored a team-high 15 points and finished with a game-high six steals to lead Campbell, which began play on Monday, to a perfect 2-0 finish in the tournament. Makala Rouse and Hannah Long finished with 11 points, while Caroline Bowns came off the bench to knock down 3-of-5 from three-point range to also finish with 11 points. Brianna Cribb fell shy of a double-double with nine points and a game-high nine rebounds.
For Morgan State, it was another case of being in the game, but tying to find consistent scoring throughout to put it over the hump. The Lady Bears would again out shoot their opponent and make fewer baskets.
The Lady Bears shot 17-of-47 (36 percent) and was 4-for-13 (30.8 percent) from three-point range. T Campbell would shoot 48.8 percent (21-of-43) for the game, including 5-of-15 (33 percent) from behind the arc.
Foul trouble would again plague junior guard
Braennan Farrar for the second consecutive game. This time Farrar, who fouled out and was held to just six points in Morgan's last outing against Robert Morris, avoided fouling out. She would finish with a game-high 22 points, including a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe.
Tykyrah Williams added nine points and
D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks came off the bench to score eight. Â
Chelsea Mitchell came off the bench to lead the Lady Bears with four rebounds.
After Morgan State used a 6-0 run to take its first lead of the game (8-6), following a layup by
Jayde Duncan, the Camels closed out the final 3:40 with a 9-0 spurt to take a 15-8 advantage after a quarter of play.
The Lady Bears cut the deficit to 18-13 after
Braennan Farrar knocked down a three-point basket at the 8:40 mark of the second quarter. That would be as close as Morgan State would get in the first half, as Campbell responded with six straight points in part of a 10-4 run to take a 28-17 lead into the locker room at the intermission.
Campbell opened up the second half by using a 10-2 run to start the third quarter. Price completed the run with a basket to five the Camels their largest lead of the game at 19 points (38-19) with 6:49 remaining in the period.
Trailing by 16 points (48-32) after three quarters of play, the Lady Bears went on a 7-0 spurt to begin the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to nine points (48-39) after a basket by Farrar with 7:24 remaining. But the Camels would again up their lead, using an 8-0 run to extend their cushion to 56-39 with 4:24 left.
Morgan State would try to crawl back into the game by making six consecutive free throws, before Williams drained a three-pointer at the top of the key to make it a 13-point game (61-48) with 1:09 remaining.
Morgan State will conclude the Puerto Rico Classico on Wednesday, Dec. 21, when it takes on the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Tip-off is at 5:30 p.m. EST. The Golden Lions were a 51-31 loser to Campbell on Monday evening.
