MORAGA, Calif. -- Garrett Jackson scored a career-high 24 points and added nine rebounds as Saint Mary's rolled to a 78-52 victory over Morgan State on Tuesday night, extending to a six-game winning streak.
The Gaels improved to 12-3 overall, including 9-2 at home. They also extended their record to 2-0 against the Bears.
Blake Bozeman, the team's lone bright spot, scored 14 of his career-high 22 points in the first half to keep the Bears within striking distance, trailing 36-25 at halftime. But the Bears could not overcome its lack of scoring punch and ended up falling to 0-12 in road matchups, and 2-14 on the season.
Jackson was 10 of 11 from the field for the Gaels (12-3), including a perfect 3 of 3 shooting from beyond the arc. Kerry Carter and Brad Waldow also posted double-figures with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Aaron Bright finished with a game-high 10 assists to go along with nine points, and Desmond Simmons had 12 rebounds to lead the Gaels to a commanding 42-21 advantage on the glass.
Cedric Blossom, who entered as the Bears' leading scorer (14 ppg), did not score his first points until the second half and finished the game with 8 points (3-of-11) and five boards.
Kyle Thomas added five points for an MSU team that shot 35 percent (19-54) from the floor, and was 4 of 17 from beyond the arc.
Saint Mary's outscored the Bears 16-4 to start the second half and coasted from there. The Gaels held its largest lead of the night at 26 points with 6:32 remaining.
Morgan State returns to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action on Saturday when it travels to Dover for a 4 p.m. tip against Delaware State.
