BALTIMORE, Md. (Jan. 3, 2015)-After playing eight of their last nine games on the road, the Lady Bears finally return home to Hill Field House when they play host to Brown in a non-conference game on Sunday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. The game will be the first for Morgan State at home since a Dec. 13 match-up against Stony Brook. Brown leads the all-time series, 2-0 with both games taking place in Providence, RI.

Braennan Farrar scored a game-high 15 points and
Danielle Robinson added 11 for the Lady Bears, while
Dinah Jones pulled down a game-high and career-tying 15 rebounds.
Zuri White hauled in 12 rebounds and scored nine points, to help Morgan State to a 55-45 rebounding advantage over UMBC. Farrar has stepped up in the absence of Carrington (19.3 points, 5.1 rebounds), averaging 11.1 points per game, while leading the team in assists (35) and steals (30). Harrington is coming off the bench to contribute 6.3 points per outing and ranks second in the MEAC in field goal percentage at 54.0 (34-of-63). Jones leads the team with 5.9 rebounds per game, while White is grabbing 5.8 boards.

A LOOK AT THE BROWN BEARS: Brown (4-8) enters Sunday's game coming off an 80-68 victory over fellow MEAC member Howard (12/30) in the consolation game of the Cyclone Challenge in Iowa. Sophie Bikofsky scored a game-high 21 points and hauled in seven rebounds to lead four Bears in double figures scoring. Jordin Alexander scored 13 points, while Ellise Sharpe and Rebecca Musgrove added 12 and 10 points, respectively. Kennedy Martin grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds in the win. Alexander leads the Bears in scoring with 18.1 points per game, steals (22) and assists (42). Bikofsky is contributing 13.9 points, including a team-leading 39 three-pointers. Janie White leads the team in rebounding with 7.5 boards per outing.

MSU VS. BROWN SERIES NOTES: Brown leads the series, 2-0 with both contests coming in the consolation game of the Brown Bear Classic. The Brown Bears defeated Morgan State in last year's third-place game, 63-53 (12/8/13).

MORGAN VS. THE IVY LEAGUE: The Lady Bears are 3-14 all-time against members of the Ivy League Conference. Here's how Morgan State has done against the Ivy: Brown (0-2), Columbia (2-1), Cornell (1-2), Dartmouth (0-1), Penn (0-2), Princeton (0-4) and Yale (0-2). They have never faced Harvard. Morgan State has already lost to Brown and Cornell this season.

A NEW YEAR: Morgan State began the 2015 portion of its schedule on the road against crosstown rival the University of Maryland Baltimore County (1/1) and earned a 54-46 victory. The Lady Bears improved to 4-6 in their first game of the new year under the direction of head coach
Donald Beasley. Prior to the UMBC win, Morgan State's last win to start the new year was a 56-46 win at home over Howard (1/8/11).

LOSING SKID ENDS AT EIGHT: Morgan State started the New Year off right, following a 54-46 victory at UMBC (1/1). The win ended a season-long eight-game losing streak. Last season the Lady Bears had a 15-game losing streak.

BEASLEY FOUR WINS SHY OF SCHOOL RECORD: Morgan State head coach
Donald Beasley, who is in his 10th year at the helm of the Lady Bears, is three wins shy of becoming the program's all-time coaching leader. Beasley, who currently ranks second on the school's all-time list with a mark of 120-165, earned his third win of the season against UMBC (1/1). LaRue Fields (122-60 from 1979-85) is the school's all-time leader.

FARRAR EARNS SECOND STRAIGHT MEAC ROOKIE AWARD: Freshman
Braennan Farrar was named MEAC Rookie of the Week by the league office on Dec. 22. It was the second consecutive week that Farrar earned the conference honor. Farrar averaged 13.5 points, three rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals during the Chattanooga Christmas Classic (Dec. 20-21). She scored a game-high 20 points and added five assists and four steals, both game highs against Tennessee Tech.

Zuri White have filled the void. Farrar ranks second on the team in scoring at 10.8 points and leads the team in steals (29) and assists (33). Williams is averaging 5.6 points to rank fourth, while Spears (4.5 ppg) ranks third in rebounding at 4.9 per game. White leads the Lady Bears in rebounding with 5.3 boards per contest.
