BALTIMORE, Md. – Former Morgan State men's basketball standout DeWayne Jackson has signed a contract to play professionally in Europe with BC Beroe in Bulgaria's top-level NBL league.

Todd Bozeman. "I've always thought he was a pro basketball player and now he is. DeWayne is an NBA level athlete and if he continues to work hard he will reach his goal."
The 2013 All-MEAC First Team selection helped lead Morgan State to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament title game, marking the Bears' fifth appearance in seven years. He ranked 7
th in the MEAC in scoring (13.8), led the team in steals (1.7 spg), and averaged 5.6 rebounds per game.
The Bowie product completed the regular season by scoring in double-figures 27 times in 30 games played, including a season-high 32 points against the Virginia Cavaliers. As a senior, the 6-foot-8 swingman was also a member of the MEAC All-Tournament team and was selected the BoxToRow All-American second team.
Jackson, who was the 2010 MEAC Rookie of the Year, has the distinction of being the only player in school history to have the combination of over 1,500 points (1,596 – No. 5), 500 rebounds (562 – No. 8), 150 steals (173 – No. 2) and 150 assists (186).
