BALTIMORE, Md. – The Morgan State men's tennis team begins a pair of weekend tests against non-conference opponents. The Bears travel to face George Mason on Friday, March 28, followed with a road match against Drexel on Saturday, March 29.
George Mason (6-6) recently had a three-game winning streak snapped by MEAC opponent South Carolina State (3-4) on March 13 in the finale of the Hilton Head Spring Break Tournament.
Drexel (7-6) will enter the matchup fresh off a loss at James Madison (3-4) on Thursday, March 27. The Dragons have recorded wins in two out of their last seven contests.
The Bears have had a tough non-conference schedule so far this season, having lost eight straight, including six road matches. Morgan State has gone 2-8 so far this season, however they remain among the elite in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) with a 2-0 record and will be shooting toward capturing their third straight North Division title.
"We have two matches against two teams we have yet to beat while I have been here at Morgan," said MSU coach
Sean Holcomb-Jones. "But I believe we have a good chance to pick up two quality wins before we get ready to finish up our MEAC division schedule."
"Hopefully we can secure a third consecutive MEAC North title after our home matches with Howard (April 5) and Coppin (April 11 -Senior Day). We hope everyone can come out and support us."
