Rider tops Morgan State 62-48

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. -- Teddy Okereafor scored 21 points and Rider topped Morgan State 62-48 on Thursday night at Alumni Gym.
 
Rider (6-6) scored the first seven points of the game but Morgan State came back to tie at 24 on Blake Bozeman's jumper. A 3-pointer and layup by Okereafor gave Rider a 29-27 lead at intermission.
 
The Broncs used a 13-1 run at the start of the second half to push the lead to 42-28. Morgan State got it to five after 3-pointers by Bozeman and Cedric Blossom, but Rider responded with a 7-1 spurt and held off the Bears down the stretch.
 
Jimmie Taylor had 13 points for Rider and Matt Lopez added 12 points and 12 rebounds.
 
Morgan State (2-9) was led by Blossom's 21 points. Bozeman finished with 11 points as the Bears shot 33 percent from the floor, including 4 of 14 on 3-pointers.  Zech Smith led the Bears on the glass with 10 rebounds and six points.

The Bears travel to face the Manhattan Jaspers on Saturday, December 20 (7 p.m.) for their third game in five days. The contest will also mark MSU's second of a 7-game non-conference road stretch. The Bears next home game is January 12th against Maryland Eastern Shore.
