BALTIMORE, Md. (Jan. 6, 2014)-Allyson DiMagno scored a team-high 16 points and added a game-high nine rebounds to lead visiting Cornell to a 59-42 non-conference victory over Morgan State on Monday evening at Hill Field House.
The Big Red (7-6) also got 10 points and eight rebounds from Nia Marshall, while Shelby Lyman finished with 10 points and seven rebounds to help Cornell to its second straight win over Morgan State to take a 2-1 series lead.
Morgan State (2-11), which dropped its fourth straight and ninth out of its last 10 games, was led by junior guard

Cornell broke an 8-8 score by using a 21-12 run over the final 14:36 of the first half to take a 31-20 lead at the intermission. After a jumper by Carrington to even the score at eight points, the Big Red scored the next five points in the midst of a 12-2 spurt to give the guests a 20-10 lead.
A three-pointer by Carrington capped off a mini 5-0 run by the Lady Bears and cut the deficit to 25-15 with 7:26left in the half. Carrington later added another trey to end the first half scoring and bring Morgan within 31-20 at the break.
Morgan State scored the first four points of the second half to pull within seven points at 31-24, but the guests used a 19-8 run over the next 10 minutes to increase their lead to 50-32, following a three-pointer by Megan LeDuc with 8:09 remaining.
A jumper by Joelle Davidson gave the Big Red their largest advantage of the game of 21 points (57-36) with 2:27 to play.
The Big Red held a 45-30 rebounding advantage over Morgan State and also recorded 21 assists, while limiting the Lady Bears to just two. Stephanie Long led Cornell with a game-high seven assists and LeDuc came off the bench and dished out four assists. Carrington and
Danielle Robinson each had one assist for Morgan State.
The Lady Bears will close out their non-conference schedule this Wednesday evening when they host another Ivy League opponent in the University of Pennsylvania. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. at Hill Field House.
