NORFOLK, Va. (April 17, 2013)-The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced today the 2013 men's and women's tennis All-Academic selections, honoring 46 student-athletes, from the conference's 13 institutions who achieved academic success during the 2012-13 academic school year.
The MEAC recognizes student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, including sophomores to seniors, as well as transfer student-athletes, who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year.
“I commend our men's and women's tennis student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the academic school year,” said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. “I would further like to congratulate the coaches, academic support staff and parents of these academic achievers for their contributions to the student-athletes' success.”
Morgan State had eight athletes, second most to South Carolina State, who had nine. Those Morgan State athletes who were recognized are

Margarita Belyakova,
Tiffany Hughes and Ekaterina Iakovieva of the women's team, while
Dmitriy Borodkin,
William Jay,
Jannick Tash and
Duwane Thomas were named from the men's team.
