Morgan State Has Four Receive MEAC Bowling All-Academic Honors

NORFOLK, Va. (March 22, 2013)-The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced today the 2013 Women's Bowling All-Academic selections, honoring 39 student-athletes who achieved academic success during the 2012-13 academic school year.
 
Morgan State had four athletes, tying Florida A&M for fourth most. Norfolk State led the way with eight, followed by Maryland Eastern Shore with seven and Delaware State, which had five. Those Lady Bears who were recognized were Danielle Hale, Atoya Leatherbury, Cedale Templeton and Ciera Troy.
 
The MEAC recognizes student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, including sophomores to seniors, as well as transfer student-athletes, who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year.
 
“I applaud our bowling student-athletes who have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average during the current academic school year,” said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. “In addition to acknowledging the accomplishments of these student-athletes, I also commend the athletic academic support staff, personnel and coaching staffs who contributed to the academic success of these student-athletes.”
