MSU CHEERLEADERS SET TO COMPETE AT THE GAYLORD

BALTIMORE, Md. -- The Morgan State University Cheerleaders will join more than 60 of the country's top college cheerleaders and dancers at the Gaylord National Resort and Covention Center in National Harbor, Md., to participate in the Battle at the Capitol Cheer & Dance Championship this weekend.

Teams from universities and colleges from across the country are scheduled to compete in the 2013 event. 

The MSU cheerleading team will compete on Saturday, Feb. 23 and Sunday, Feb. 24 in the All-Girl Collegiate Division I in a performance routine set to music featuring cheers as well as stunts and tumbling.

The squad will compete against Towson University, the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech University, Shepherd University and the Catholic University.

"We are really looking forward to this event," said MSU coach Theresa Gibson. "Our routine has all the ingredients needed to score high. All we have to do is stay clean, focused, and confident to place well in this competition."

The Cheer Bears are scheduled to compete on Saturday in the first round of the 
All-Girl Collegiate Division I at 2:52 p.m. On Sunday, the final round will begin at 3:12 p.m. The Cheer Bears wil take the mat at 3:32 p.m.
