COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. (Feb. 9, 2013)-The Morgan State women's indoor track and field team was a late addition into the Ursinus College Open hosted by Ursinus College on Friday and captured the team title with 107 points. The Lady Bears also had five individual winners and 17 top 10 finishers.
Morgan State was originally scheduled to participate in the meet in Boston, Mass., but pulled out due to the weather which hit the Boston region.
Teyanna Green ran a time of 7.62 to win the 60 meter dash, while
Tere Cooley (8.30) and
Ajada Thomas (8.57) placed fourth and eighth, respectively.
The Lady Bears went one and two in the 200 meter dash with
Ekundayo Sogbesan winning the event in a time of 24.80, while
Charisma Green took second in a time of 25.34.
Nichole Candelaria (25.91) and
Sianna Wynter (27.28) finished fourth and seventh, respectively.
The Lady Bears went 1-4 in the 400 meter dash with Sogbesan also placing first in the event with a time of 57.20. Candelaria finished second in a time of 57.64, Cooley was third with a time of 57.83, while
Teyanna Green ran a time of 58.70 to place fourth.
Charisma Green had a time of 1:00.38 to come in sixth and
Sianna Wynter was ninth with a time of 1:01.68.
Danielle Calhoun won the 800 meter run in a time of 2:24.37, while
Ishakeema Swain won the mile run with a time of 5:16.41.
Nynneya Columbus finished third in the 5000 meter run in a time of 19:35.34.
Ajada Thomas had a jump of 37-08.75 in the triple jump to place second.
