Women’s Tennis Drops Sixth Straight; Falls At Drexel, 4-2

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Feb. 10, 2013)-The Morgan State women's tennis team suffered a 4-2 road loss on Sunday in a non-conference match at Drexel. The loss was the sixth straight for the Lady Bears, who fell to 1-6 on the season.
 
Morgan State got off to a good start when Ekaterina Iakovleva defeated Drexel's Zeynep Mafa 6-7, 6-7 in a No. 1 singles match and Mi'Kola Cooper followed with a No. 2 singles victory over Marcela Rosales 4-6, 7-5, 6-7.
 
The Dragons would then capture the next two singles matches to even the score at 2-2 and Amanda Tilles earned a No. 6 victory by default to give the hosts a 3-2 advantage. The Dragons would earn the doubles point with Mafa and Rosales teaming up to defeat Chelsi Russell and Cooper of Morgan State, 8-4 in a No. 1 doubles match and Alex Bell and Mel Reyes were awarded a default victory at the No. 3 spot.
