WASHINGTON, D.C. (Dec. 14, 2013)-Tracey Carrington scored 17 of her game-high 25 points in the first half, but it wasn't enough, as the Lady Bears dropped their fifth straight game, following a 75-60 road loss at George Washington on Saturday afternoon at the Charles E. Smith Center.

George Washington (6-4) was led by Megan Brown, who scored a team-high 18 points, while Caira Washington finished with 15. Alexis Chandler came off the bench to score 14 points and pulled down a team-high eight boards for the Colonials, who have now won the last two meetings against the Lady Bears to even up the all-time series at 4-4.

Forrest finished with nine points for the Lady Bears, while Dinah Jones grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and had a career- and game-high six steals.

Morgan State shot 43.8 percent (21-of-48) from the floor, including 4-for-8 (50 percent) from three-point range. The host Colonials launched 71 shots, connecting on 27 of them for 38 percent and shot just seven percent (1-fo-14) from three-point range.

George Washington however, made 20 of its 27 free throws for 74 percent, while the Lady Bears shot 60 percent (14-of-23) from the charity stripe.

Morgan State (1-7) jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead after a layup by Ivy Harrington, just four minutes into the game. The Lady Bears later used an 8-2 spurt, capped off by a three-pointer from Carrington to extend their lead to 21-15 with 9:32 remaining in the first half. The six-point lead would be the largest in the game for the Lady Bears.

The two teams would trade leads back-and-forth the rest of the half. A jumper by Danni Jackson with 40 seconds remaining evened the game at 32 all, the 11th tie of the game. Forrest then countered with a three-pointer from the left wing to give the Lady Bears a 35-32 lead at the intermission.

After Washington made the second of two free throws with 16:54 left to tie the game at 38-38 (the 14th and final tie of the game), the Colonials went on a 35-15 run over the next 13:32 to take their largest lead of the game at 73-53 with 3:22 remaining.

Morgan State, which had a season-high 35 turnovers in the game, committed 11 of them during George Washington's run, as the Colonials turned up their defense in the second half.

The Lady Bears will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 18 when they host Towson. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. at Hill Field House. It will be the third and final home contest for the Lady Bears for the 2013 year.
