GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Senior swingman DeWayne Jackson and redshirt-junior center Ian Chiles led Morgan State to a hard fought 55-52 victory over North Carolina A&T tonight at Corbett Sports Center.

Jackson finished with 14 points and a career-high 12 rebounds, while 7-foot-2 center Ian Chiles posted 14 points and 10 boards.

Chiles was 7 for 8 from the field as the Bears post play continued to keep the Bears close, despite a poor perimeter shooting night.

With Morgan State down by four with just over 3 minutes remaining, Chiles caught an entry pass in the paint and kicked it out to a wide-open Anthony Hubbard. Hubbard stepped into a 3-pointer to trim A&T's lead to 52-51 with 2:08 remaining.

Hubbard, who chipped in 10 points, also scored on a fastbreak layup with 34 seconds left to give Morgan State a 53-52 advantage. The Bears held A&T scoreless in the final moments to improve its record to 6-10 overall and 3-2 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Morgan State jumped out to an early 7-3 advantage as A&T started the game off cold.  The Aggies started picking up their play midway through the first half.

DaMetrius Underwood hit back-to-back jumpers and a drop-step dunk by R.J. Buck cut the Bears lead to 20-18 with just under 10 remaining.

The teams went into the halftime tied at 29 apiece.

Adrian Powell paced the Aggies with 12 points, while Jean Louisme finished with 10 and Lamont Middleton added 8 points and six boards.

The Aggies took the lead at 31-30 when Louisme connected with Austin Witter for an alley-oop. Both teams played with more patience in the second half and neither team seemed able to build a comfortable lead.

The Bears held a 36-32 advantage in rebounding and outscored the Aggies 34-26 in the paint.

Morgan State will wrap up its trip to the Tar Heel state with a MEAC matchup against the North Carolina Central Eagles in Durham, N.C.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at McDougald-McLendon Gym.
