Lady Bears Visit Howard In Must Win Series

BALTIMORE, Md. (April 16, 2012)-The Morgan State softball team will look to end a six-game losing skid, as well as a seven-game Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) losing skid when they visit Howard this weekend.

The three-game series begins with a doubleheader this Saturday, April 21 at 1 p.m., followed by a single game on Sunday, April 22 at noon.

Morgan State (7-19, 1-8 MEAC), which enters the series in sixth-place in the north division standings and in danger of not qualifying for the upcoming MEAC championships, is in a position where they can't afford to lose any more games.

Only the top four teams in the division advance to the MEAC championship (May 10-12) in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Lady Bears are coming off being swept on the road to Norfolk State last weekend. Morgan State was outscored 35-9 in the three games.

Howard (5-26, 4-5 MEAC), which sits in fifth, was also in the Tidewater area last week on the other side of the tunnel in Hampton. Like Morgan State, the Lady Bison did not have a successful Virginia trip, as they were swept by the Lady Pirates.
