Softball Heads to Norfolk State This Weekend For MEAC Showdown

NORFOLK, Va. (April 13, 2012)-The Lady Bears' softball team will look to get back in the win column this weekend when they visit Norfolk State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division three-game series at the NSU Softball Field.

Morgan State (7-16, 1-5 MEAC), which has dropped its last four MEAC contests, is coming off a three-game series sweep last weekend to Delaware State.

Norfolk State (15-19, 4-2 MEAC) enters the weekend series on a two-game losing skid, following a doubleheader loss at Longwood on Thursday in Farmville, Va. The loss ended a three-game winning streak for the Spartans.

Last season the two teams met once during the regular season with the visiting Lady Bears defeating Norfolk State, 9-1 in the opener of the opener of the Spartan Invitational. Morgan State then dropped a 5-3 decision to the Spartans, who were then a member of the South Division, in the opening round of the MEAC Championships.
