BALTMORE, Md. (Feb. 6, 2012)-Howard's Saadia Doyle scored a game-high 26 points and Tamoria Holmes added 20, to lead the visiting Lady Bison to a 64-55 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) victory over Morgan State on Monday evening at Hill Field House.

Doyle also pulled down a game-high nine rebounds, falling shy of a double-double, while Zykia Brown finished with 10 points and Cheyenne Curley-Payne had a game-high 10 assists for the Lady Bison, who extended their winning streak to four. The win was also the second straight over Morgan State, increasing Howard's all-time series lead to 46-15.

Morgan State (6-17, 3-7 MEAC) was led by Omara Parker, who scored 17 of her team-high 21 points in the first half. Amarah Williams added 12 points on 6-for-6 shooting and had a team-high seven rebounds. DeKeisha Mathis added nine points on three three-pointers, giving her 62 treys for the season.

Howard (17-7, 9-2 MEAC) which led the entire game, took an 11-point (24-13) advantage on a three-pointer by Brown with 9:12 to play in the opening half.

The Lady Bears then countered with a 13-2 run over the next 8:37 to even the score at 26 all with 35 seconds remaining after two free throws by Parker. But the guests would score the last four points of the half to take a 30-26 cushion into the locker room.

Howard used an 11-7 run during the first six minutes of the second half to increase its lead to 41-33 after Brown knocked down three straight free throws with 14:24 to play. Morgan State would pull within three points, but the guests went on a 20-9 run to take a 14 point lead (61-47) with 3:47 left in the game. 

The Lady Bears return to action on Saturday Feb. 11, when they play host to Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) in a MEAC contest at 2 p.m. at Hill Field House. UMES is coming off a 62-58 victory over Norfolk State on Monday.

Morgan State has won two straight over the Lady Hawks, but UMES holds a 36-30 all-time series advantage. The two teams split last year's regular season, each winning on their home floor. Morgan State then defeated the Lady Hawks, 43-39 in the quarterfinals of the MEAC Tournament (3/9/11).
